Some criticisms of the Shield Hero seasons 1 and 2 (so far) have said that the other heroes are useless, and only exist in the story to make Naofumi look good. However, these characters do have a lot of development in store later in the series, and in this video, I give you all the spoilers about Ren Itsuki and Motoyasu, including their curse series weapons, their redemption arcs, their involvement with Malty or Myne, and the answer to the question 'do the other three heroes get better?'. This Shield Hero video contains spoilers for all of the Rising of the Shield Hero light novel series, which is far ahead of the manga and anime (though it discusses the light novel canon, which is different from the web novel). It also contains minor spoilers for the spin off The Reprise of the Spear Hero.
