The U.S. Military adopted the M14 Battle Rifle in 1958 and it would serve as the standard service rifle up until 1964, when it was replaced (gradually). With the development of that rifle also came a new cartrdidge, the 7.62x51mm NATO. The US may still have a few M14s in service, but the cartridge is still used by many weapons and by many Nations. In this video we go over some of the history behind the rifles in 7.62x51mm NATO (308 in civilian) and how they compare to each other. Note that these are civilian weapons similar to actual Col War era weapons and may not represent the actual function or caliber that military units would have been using at the time. 🇺🇸 Check out this video’s sponsor on Facebook!
