Visiting Fox River State Penitentiary in Illinois USA

Because I'm a kinda Prison Break fan I visited the Joliet State Penitentiary, a.k.a. Fox River State last summer. I spend 6 days in Chicago and I planned one day for the Fox River visit. I really hoped to see Sarah there but the prison turned out to be empty, and the prison itself is not accessible for public. To get to the prison ask for Collins Street and just keep walking and you'll get to the prison in about 20 minutes. To me it did not look like a very save area by the way, so keep your eyes open (as Scofield and his crew might still be out there somewhere hehehe). Also in summer take enough water with you because the walk to it was quite heavy with the heat and low humidity. Have fun! Manuel Logan
