Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia October 20, 2023 Wrapping up his productive participation to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations - Gulf Cooperation Council (ASEAN-GCC) Summit, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. spends time with thousands of Filipinos in a gathering in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on October 20, 2023. The Chief Executive, together with the members of the Philippine delegation, reports the productive outcomes of his visit to the Kingdom and personally conveys his gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the country. According to the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, an estimated number of 2.2 million Filipinos are in the GCC countries, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Of this number, 700,000 are working and living in Saudi Arabia. Majority of them are employed in the sectors of household services, construction, tourism, hospitality, healthcare, and agriculture, among others.
