In the middle of February, the volunteers of Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway gave their stalwart tank engine Andrew Barclay No. 1 'Rosyth' a final farewell by organising a special final public running event for her, for she is now over 10 years old and is due for a long overhaul process. Saturday 10th February saw 'Rosyth' on her final public passenger services, as well as running on the coal train several times, and I was able to get some footage from the perspective of the LMS brake van of the coal train working across the heritage railway. It was a very busy turnout to see 'Rosyth' for the final time in public, and we are going to miss her very much after 10 years of reliable service to the Blaenavon Railway. One of my favourite shots filmed of the event is most certainly 'Rosyth' pushing the passenger train past Garn Lakes. It's a very beautiful spot for filming the trains from, and offers great views of the mountains and there are plenty of ducks to see swimming across the lake in the foreground. Sunday 11th February saw a photo charter and a private running session for members and volunteers, who bid 'Rosyth' a final farewell in their own special way.
