Savaged by critics Career Opportunities has become underrated cult classic Famously taking place in a Target store, Career Opportunities stars Frank Whaley as Jim Dodge and Jennifer Connelly as Josie. It was directed by Bryan Gordon and written by the legendary John Hughes. Yet, despite having Hughes' name attached to the movie, it went pretty much unnoticed by movie goers while in theaters and was ravaged by critics. However, the movie has it's fans from those that caught the movie on cable over the years and appreciate the movie as a fun, light-hearted, coming of age romp that deserves more love than it gets.
