10 Practical Considerations for Implementing Field-Oriented Control (FOC) | Brushless Motor Control

The video walks through tasks for designing and implementing field-oriented control (FOC), including algorithm design, modeling, control tuning, and deployment. Start with acquiring rotor position and speed through sensors or through estimation methods by using observers. Create motor and inverter models by using motor parameter estimation techniques. Proceed to controller design and tuning using rule based or FOC autotuning techniques. You can then generate ANSI C code from the FOC algorithm and deploy it to the target hardware to validate the motor control algorithm.
