This week, I textured and carved the first half of the 1000 gallon paludarium. This is a first for me as this is the largest project that I have ever attempted along with being the first time that i have attempted using concrete stamps to create texture in concrete. To create a natural stone look I used a combination techniques including using trowels, stamps, and brushes to create a realistic rock texture. I used a 80/20 ratio of Portland lime and sand mortar and quickcreate crack resistant concrete mixed with a latex concrete glue for additional strength and durability. All of the stamps used to create texture were created by me using silicone.
