New for 2024 is Minifigure Speedway which opened in the Bricktopia area at Legoland Windsor on April 6th, 2024. Minifigure Speedway is a brand new dueling coaster manufactured by Zierer, built on the site of the Raft Racers. Minifigure Speedway has a red track and blue track known as Team Allstars and Team Legends. Legoland Windsor opened to the public on the 17th of March 1996. It was the second Legoland park to be built after Legoland Billund. Over 1000 sites were considered for the construction of the new Legoland until in 1992 Windsor Safari Park went into receivership and the vacated site was chosen. In April 2005 The Lego Group decided to sell the Legoland parks which were purchased by the Blackstone Group and control parsed to Merlin Entertainment.
