Kargil Tourism Festival Ladakh 2018 Government is Focused on Overall Development of Kargil Ladakh: Ganai Kargil: 04 Sept. 2018 In Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival 2018 was inaugurated by Chairman J&K Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali along with Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and Secretary Tourism J&K Rigzin Samphel. He also Inaugurated Traditional Games of Archery and Polo during the festival, Cycling Expedition and witnessed to some colorful traditional dance programmes presented by various ethnic groups of Kargil. While interacting with the People Haji Anayat Ali told that various programmes has been initiated by the Government to Promote Tourism in Kargil and hoped that the department under the able, leadership of Rigzin Samphel the son of soil will pay keen attention towards the projects already in pipeline. He told that soon he will take a meeting with the secretary Tourism and Director Tourism along with other stake holders and will send again some fresh proposal for promotion of tourism in Kargil. He advised the Tourism department to arrange off season road shows and tourism stalls in different cities so that more and more tourist can be attracted. The Guest of the Honour Advisor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai answering to the question of the media assured that the government is focused on development of tourism sector in Kargil and for that the Zojjila Tunnel and Civil Air Service which will soon start will add on. He further told that Government is focusing on promoting Renewable Energy sector to generate employment in the district and will also help in the prosperity and development of Kargil Ladakh. Khurshid Ahmad Gania Advised the Deputy Commissioner Kargil to look for possibilities to use Renewable Energy Sector for lifting Water for Irrigation purpose particularly solar energy so that the Agriculture sector which is the main industry in Kargil producing Organic Products will get benefited. Secretary Tourism J&K Rigzin Samphel told that more than 85,000 domestic Tourist and 4500 foreign tourist has visited Kargil which is increasing year by year and in future Kargil will be most liked tourist destination in J&K. On this occasion on the recommendation of Secretary Tourism, Haji Anayat Ali Facilitated two Brothers of Kargil Muzzamil and Taffazul the owners of Roots Ladakh for their unique initiatives to promote tourism in Kargil particularly Brown Bear Expedition, Suru Bolder Fest etc. On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Kargil Vikas Kundal, SP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar, former CEC and Councilor Yourbaltak Kacho ahmad Ali Khan, Director Tourism Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Councilor Punchok Tashi and Abdul Rahim and other district officers, Tourist from both India and Abroad and a large number of local people.
