A performance with the hugely talented Cantor Magda Fishman (no relationship to me - but she is surely a 'soul sister!') of Gershwin's classic, "Summertime," in Yiddish and English, from the concert "Soul To Soul" produced by the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. This performance was from February 2024 at the Jacksonville Jewish Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Thank you again to Hazzan Jesse Merlin Holzer and everyone at Jacksonville Jewish Center for having us - and for the great video! The band is: Magda Fishman on vocals and trumpet Zalmen Mlotek on piano (as well as Artistic Director of the Folksbiene and Musical Director/Creator/Conductor of Soul to Soul), Brian Glassman on bass, Matt Temkin on drums and Zisl Slepovitch on soprano saxophone.
