The "Welch Method" is fairly straight forward and requires very little in terms of tools. With practice, it can be performed easily with consistently repeatable results. The paper I use in the video is not a handmade washi paper but if you can print with it I dare say you can print with anything. More expensive washi papers will likely be much easier to handle.
