Digitization Services | Mobius Knowledge Services

Books, images, corporate paperwork, audio and video files prove to be valuable sources of insights for both business and research purposes. These data-rich sources are very difficult and at times impossible to be accessed if they not digitized. Imagine going through scores of written records and books of varying legibility, to spot information of your interest. This was exactly the challenge faced by researchers focused on learning living patterns of Scottish residents. Vital records of about 18 million Scottish individuals was stored as images and researchers had to manually transcribe the data they needed by going through scores of images. Backed by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and National Records of Scotland (NRS), the "Digitising Scotland" project was launched to digitize the record images in collaboration with 3 institutions - the Universities of Edinburgh, St Andrews, and Queens University Belfast. With a strong foothold in digitization services, Mobius was identified as a partner on the technology front and we took up the large-scale digitization of about 25 million Scottish records.
