How to do a camel spin! BEGINNER FRIENDLY tutorial for learning how to do the camel spin in figure skating⛸ Hello! Today's video is one of my most requested ice skating tutorials and that is how to do the basic camel spin position in figure skating. If you watched my previous video talking about the 3 basic spin positions in figure skating, you know that the camel spin is one of those basic positions. The camel spin is required for the USFS Freeskate 1-6 levels, select Singles Tests, and at some levels is a required element in your program. The forward camel spin position is one of the most difficult spin positions for beginners to learn. This spin requires core strength as well as balance. In this video I highlight some elements skaters might find handy to know prior to working on this spin. Knowing these can make the learning process slightly less challenging. I do plan on making more camel spin tutorials in the future! please note that I do suffer from nerve damage/pain in my back that hinders my ability to fully straighten my leg in this spin position I am a competitive adult figure skater and skating coach sharing my favorite tips, tricks, and personal skating journey!
