Road2Paraty Interview | Artur Ekert

Road2Paraty is a series of original talks given by former lecturers of the traditional Paraty Quantum Information School and Workshop, held since 2007 (every 2 years) in the town of Paraty/RJ, Brazil. Devised in the form of 'Interview + Lecture', each episode of #Road2Paraty is composed of an interview with the lecturer about their professional and personal trajectories (the interview part), and a LIVE lecture on a modern QI topic (the lecture part). The talks are given by scientists who contributed in a singular manner to make #quantumparaty one of the most esteemed events in the area of Quantum Information. We intend to cover the 4 year gap from 2019 (our last event) to 2023 (our next event) due to the COVID-19 pandemics. Join us, it's quantum, it's Paraty! In the second episode, we have the honour to interview Artur Ekert, professor at the University of Oxford and the National University of Singapore. Prof. Ekert is also recipient of many prizes, including the 1995 Maxwell Medal for his discovery of quantum cryptography and the 2019 Micius Quantum Prize. Prof. Ekert is one of the few people to give two courses at Paraty, including the very first #quantumparaty in 2007. Check the subtitles available for this video: Portuguese (Brazil) & English. Also stay tuned for the lecture part of Prof. Ekert's episode on #Road2Paraty, very soon in our YouTube channel.
