In recent years this food has become one of the main attractions of Nepal. It is considered as a typical dish of the Nepalese people. This dish has been passed down from many generations and is still much appreciated by the people. There are no specific seasons for this dish to be served but, mostly served during auspicious occasion, in family get-together and Newari Festivals.  Samay bajiis taken as starter in every festival, every religious activities and pujas. This is served in Shradda(death anniversary rituals) as well. It is taken throughout the year because of its simplicity; it is easy to make and can be stored for a long time. The Samay Bajiis also taken during the major festivals of Nepal like Indra Jatra, Dashain, Tihar(Laxmi Puja, Bhai Tika). This dish is served in almost all the activities of Newari people. INGREDIENTS FOR NEWARI KHAJA SET | SAMAYE BAJI (1) Ingredients For Achar : 3 Cups of longly chopped carrot | You may also take radish fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tbsp  turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp  lapsi ko chuk - 1/2 tbsp  salt as per your taste or 1/2 tbsp  1 medium size potato veg oil - 2 tbsp some finely chopped fresh coriander  chopped green chillies - 3 to 4 as per your taste green peas soaked in water for 2-3 hours at least - 1 cup red chilli paste - 1 tbsp (2) Ingredients For making Aalu fry : boiled potatoes - 2 cups (4-5 medium size potatoes) salt as per your taste some finely chopped fresh coriander veg oil - 3 tbsp red chilli paste - 1 tbsp jeera(cumin seeds) & methi (fenugreek seeds) - each 1/4 tbsp trumeric powder - 1/4 tbsp ginger garlic paste - 1/4 tbsp (3) Ingredients for simple Saag recipe : chopped saag - 1/2 kg dried red chilli - 2 pieces salt as per your taste cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp longly chopped ginger - 1/2 tbsp (4) Ingredients for Bodi (Black eyed peas): boiled bodi (Black eyed peas)  - 2 cups ginger/garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp longly chopped onion - 1 medium size turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp salt as per your taste (5) Ingredients For Sadeko Bhatmas : black bhatmas - 1 cup mustard seeds - 2 tbsp cumin seed powder - 1/2 tbsp red chilli paste - 1/2 tbsp ginger longly chopped - 2 tbsp garlic longly chopped - 2 tbsp salt as per your taste (6) Ingredients for boiled fried egg : 4 boiled eggs pinch of salt or as per your taste turmeric powder - 1/6 tbsp or just a pinch pinch of cumin seeds or 1/4 tbsp veg oil - 1/2 tbsp (7) Ingredients for bara : soaked black lentils - 250 grams ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp veg oil - 2 tbsp salt as per your taste (8) Ingredients for fried fish :  5 small fish salt as per your taste pinch of curry powder / fish masala / garam masala as per your wish pinch of red chilli powder all prupose flour - 1 tbsp veg oil to fry Newari Khaja | Samaye Baji Recipe VIDEO RECIPE Search for “Newari Khaja | Samaye Baji Recipe Yummy food world“ in youtube to find this video easily ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music Used: 1st Music: Italian Afternoon by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...)
