The University has been accredited with Grade "A+" by NAAC.[5] The University is promoted by Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies and Research, a society registered under Societies Registration Act 1860.First it was known as Law College Dehradun (LCD) but know it is know as The Uttaranchal university. Uttaranchal University is located in the Doon Valley and consists of 170 acres (69 ha), Biggest of all in the Uttarakhand region.
