For the Fender History buffs: 1956 Stratocaster factory refinished in 1959!

I received a call from a local seller looking for a buyer for this 1956 Fender Stratocaster. As I looked at it, I could tell that it was all Fender through and through, but there was more to the story than just "1956 Stratocaster". Upon inspection, I determined that this '56 Strat was sent back to Fender in 1959 for a factory refinish! There is a bunch of evidence for this in the neck pocket and underneath the pickguard. It's got that perfect soft V shaped neck that makes '56 Strats special. It also has its original '56 polystyrene knobs and pickup covers which are so much more fragile than the ABS plastic used starting in 1957.
