Dr. Heath Tims is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University He received his B.S. degree at Louisiana Tech and his M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Michael Swanbom is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University. He received his B.S. Degree from LeTourneau University, and his M.S. and PH.D from Louisiana Tech University. In this TED talk, Dr. Tims and Dr. Swanbom discuss their experiences in the Eco Car Marathon and the importance of teaching techniques. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
