Ascension is one of the earliest deckbuilding games on the market, and recently had a 10th anniversary edition — not deluxe or big-box, but fundamentally improved. It's a great time to try out what might be my favourite pure deckbuilder. Not as strategic as Dominion, and can be super-swingy especially with the expansions, but a huge amount of variety makes for a great game. The new edition is the right opportunity to explore if you haven't yet had the pleasure. Another long video.
