While the Jupiter-8 is known as the fattest of all polyphonic analog synthesizers, these two digital incarnations aim to model and recreate the classic tones from this renowned instrument; and they do a great job at it-- albeit, in different ways. The System-8 is a more precise recreation of the classic Jupiter-8 tones, with ACB technology modeling even the most specific quirks of the original. The Jupiter-X, however, more accurately emulates the aesthetic of the JP-8 while using ACM technology that eschews the quirks to paint a bigger general picture of the magic of the original (not to mention, it has Roland drum sounds like the 808 and 909 built in).
