They are highly intelligent, high-energy dogs that require a far greater amount of your time, patience, understanding and energy than other dog breeds and even if you can give them all of that, it can be tough and it will be tough. They need to be physically and mentally stimulated and well cared for. Please do not take one on unless you are absolutely %100 committed to raising one the best you can and have done your research and done some more research on top of that. They are wonderful and sensitive beings and deserve only the best. Too many collies are given up because people who thought they could raise one and own one, then later realised that they couldn't or no longer wanted to which usually has very unhappy result for the animal.
