The Carlingford railway line in Sydney closed on 5 January 2020. On 4 January 2020, a farewell party was held together with a Red Rattler set F1. Much of the railway line will be converted to light rail as part of the Parramatta Light Rail network. Construction is expected to begin in 2020 and be completed by 2023.
