From the cell of the monastery of Camaldoli (Tuscany) During the Covid-19 Lockdown, soon after Easter I was meditating upon the fear of death. I told myself : "Especially those of us who are in any way in a form of spiritual path and are also supposed to have even just an extra bit of awareness, we have the duty in this difficult moment to show calm and high spirit, to be supportive and consoling our brothers and sisters and gently call them to responsibility and to a special sensitive mutual attention for each other. Based on what we believe, meditate and often preach, we should instill in our environment courage and strength to cope with the fear of death in any way we could." So I chose this Gregorian melody and text from the maryan antiphon of this liturgical time and interpreted it my way. This image of light it's recalling me the Resurection of Christ and these quotes from the New Testament and the Upanishad are incredibly matching on the topic from different perspective.
