Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (or METRO) is the largest transit agencies in Houston Texas that operates METRO Bus and METRORail. This footage was captured on a busy afternoon in Downtown Houston (or Central Business District). During the afternoon weekdays, METRO Houston buses (local and commuter) and METRORail (Green, Red, and Purple Lines) are busy moving people out from Downtown Houston. Downtown Houston is the largest business district in Houston, Harris County, and Texas. In the future (after 2027), METRORapid Silver Line (bus rapid transit or BRT) will share tracks with METRORail Green & Purple Line tracks). Silver Line will connect Downtown Houston and Uptown Houston (second largest business district in Houston). The fare to ride METRO Bus (local) and METRORail is $1.25. Riding the METRO Bus (Commuter or Park & Ride Routes), the fare is based on zones (or how far the bus travels).
