Ha Giang Loop (PART 2) - DO NOT DRIVE THESE ROADS! 😱🛵

Hey guys - welcome back! This week's video gets a little scary. We have to say, we do not recommend you drive these roads if you do not already have some experience riding a scooter in Asia. The roads are extremely dangerous with hazards on each turn. You have to be aware of your surroundings at all times and this makes the drives long and tiring. We were bordering on exhaustion throughout! That being said, this part of the journey proved to be the most interesting, scenic and hilarious part of our journey. Apart from nearly being knocked down a 300ft cliff edge, we came out unscathed. There are many routes you can take through Meo Vac as it is a large district. We chose this route based on the views that others said were unmissable. The roads were being relayed but were still open - this is why we were basically passing through construction sites the whole way. We would recommend taking an alternate route which would be more direct and avoid the construction. From what I can see currently on Google Maps, I don't believe you can actually schedule this route now, meaning they may have closed them - which is good, trust me! Haha. This leg significantly increased our journey time as it wasn't always clear from Google which way we should go, meaning we often got lost or went the wrong way. Our journey times throughout this have also been thrown off because of the amount of time it was ACTUALLY taking us to do a supposed 4.5 hour journey (somewhere beyond 8 hours in the end). We advise that you plan your routes with buffer added. In our case, it was nearly double the Google maps recommended times. If you are going with a tour, the guides will be experienced enough to know which routes will be fastest or most efficient. If you're doing it alone - check the most recent guidance on Google or travel blogs and YouTube videos. We drove the loop in September, 2022 so this information may be slightly outdated. Anyway, we hope you enjoy this installment and if you do, like, comment and share - don't forget to hit subscribe for more adventurous travel journeys! Thanks for the on-going support friends!
