PLEASE.. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY WILD LAOS - One of the MOST BEAUTIFUL Villages Never Seen | Muang Khua Why have I never heard of this village!? So many beautiful places in Laos yet this one has evaded my attention. Muang Khua sits where the Nam Phak river meets the Nam Ou. The Nam Ou starts at the very top of Laos and winds it's way down before joining the Mekong river near Luangprabang. Before the dams you could traverse this river by slowboat from LuangPrabang all the way up to Hatsa near Phongsali. No doubt this riverside village of Muang Khua was a very popular place to stop then. Now with the dams restricting boat travel, tourists must find other means of travelling here. Many old guest houses abandoned now line the river front with many more in the tight winding market area of the village. Without a doubt this village is amongst some of the most beautiful I have visited in all of Laos, but what amazes me the most is.. I had never heard of it. A village worthy of a few days exploration for sure!
