Understanding anorexia

Anorexia nervosa is one of the most lethal psychiatric disorders. This debilitating disorder manifests in physical, behavioural and psychological symptoms. Recent studies are hinting that novel dieting practices are propelling the rates of anorexia. With the alarming diet and cosmetic surgery posts, social media may be creating a diet culture that endangers the mental health of youth. If you or anyone you know may be living with anorexia, be sure to speak with a healthcare professional, family and/or friends to ensure you receive the care and support you need.
