Do you Need German Language to Survive in Berlin? | Life in Berlin

It's been a bit confusing to figure out whether you need German language to survive in Berlin. It seems like some people speak perfect English whereas some speak only German. Ep 25⬇See more below⬇ My experience is that you need German language if you are living in Berlin. If you only visit Berlin, then maybe you can get by with very little or no German language, since some people can speak English in Berlin, especially within tourism industry. However, I would highly recommend to learn basic German, as the Germans seem to appreciate it a lot and hence you will get better service if you speak in German. At least learning German language will make your life in Berlin a lot easier. You don't have to be fluent in German, since already some basic German skills will help you a long way!
