Northern Europe 2023 - Day 7 - Flam with the MSC Euribia

This morning we got up and it was raining, but it didn't stop us from walking around the deck to take in the views of Flam. After breakfast we disembarked and started our hike to Brekkefossen, a waterfall above the little village. After standing in the spray at the base of the waterfall, we hiked back down to the town center. Flam is a town of 300 full-time residents, but due to being on a World Heritage fjord, it is a camping, climbing, boating and recreation center in the summer. We checked out some of the souvenir places, including handcrafts by local Norwegians, then got some local Norwegian food. Then we took in the mountain views in a small park behind the cafe. Finally, we went back to the fjord - so that we could jump into its cold waters. We did a floating sauna, where we'd heat up inside, then jump into the fjord. It was gorgeous, invigorating, and just a lot of fun. Back on the ship, we watched as we left port. We were sad as this was our final Norwegian port.
