Extra 20 temples＃13 Senryu-ji ●About this temple In the 6th year of the Kounin era, when Kobo Daishi was 42 years old, he climbed a mountain and prayed to Takizawa Daigongen and Kaiun Fudoson in Kongo Cave, built a gomadan for good health, and purified his mind and body at the ``Kiyome no Taki'' in the mornings and evenings. He made two petitions: ``Extermination of insects, good harvest,'' and practiced Goma for 21 days. After completing the Goma training, he carved a statue of himself and placed it on this mountain. The principal image is said to be ``Daishi to ward off evil spirits'' and ``Daishi to ward off insects,'' and many believers from all over the world come to visit it throughout the four seasons. ●Point to watch around ・As you go up the mountain behind the temple, you will join the pilgrimage route that connects Sankakuji Temple, the 65th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temples Tour, and Unbenji Temple, the 66th temple.
