Mahidol Jazz Stage Band (Performance) Since our Jazz students have increased every year, the Mahidol University's Jazz Department has increased from having two large ensembles to three large ensembles, adding the brand new Mahidol University Jazz Stage Band. The music performed by the ensemble includes compositions from the Swing era (Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Benny Goodman) in Original Arrangements and New Vesion Arrangements. Members of the band are mainly students from the Pre-College Jazz Program. The purpose of this ensemble is to provide experience for students to become a Jazz musician in the future. Currently, Mahidol University Jazz Stage Band is conducted by Taweesak Booranapanitpan. Thailand International Jazz Conference (TIJC) is a jazz music event initiated in 2009 by Mahidol University College of Music, aimed at presenting top quality jazz music to the public and also offering jazz education to the interested musicians (both students and general publics). To achieve our aim, TIJC is held in the university venue and consists of three main elements, i.e., music performance, Jazz Education Activities (Discussion), and Jazz Composition Competition, which are opened both for general professional jazz musicians. In addition to the existing elements, an educational event "TIJC Youth Camp" was initiated in 2020, offering all participants great chances to meet, perform with, and learn from the professional jazz musicians.
