The original engine was completely seized and needs to be machined. The entire car was totally overrun by mice and the interior all needed to be discarded. The fuel lines and brake lines were replaced, it got a new fuel tank, and the brake drums were turned. With the ability to run and stop, this jalopy finally was ready to be tested on the street. She performed with flying colors, although I have never driven a manual transmission before and it really shows. What an adventure!!
