Chasing Your Dream Is EXPENSIVE

Hey, how is everything? I just got back from my Montana trip, and I'm probably going to make another video about my stay there since it was such a life changing experience for me. I've spent the first week back from Montana working on this video, but also reflecting and setting up my life for what's to come. Here are some of the top things that I've learned from living with other creators: 1) Fill your life with inspiration. Before the Montana trip I was so obsessed with productivity and being an essentialist that I weeded out a lot of the fun in my life. I threw away a lot of things in my room that I thought was junk, I stopped hanging out with friends because I thought it was a waste of time. I put my full focus on one thing. As great as that might sound, I now believe that in order to feel full in life you need those moments of procrastination, silly time with friends, weird items in your room that serve no purpose. 2) Do EVERYTHING you can to find like minded individuals, people that have the same aspirations as you, people with the same passions as you. It's a game changer, here's why. For so long I felt like I had to hide my true self because no one around me had the same interests. I felt like every time I talked about YouTube and filmmaking people would get annoyed, every time I'd get overly passionate about a project I was working on, people would tune me out. But being in this house with a bunch of other creators made me realize that it doesn't have to be like that. There are people out there. You just have to find them. 3) It's not always about the physical result. Going into Montana, all of us were excited about the business that we could generate by living together. Collectively we had over 1 million subscribers. Imagine the brand deals, the money we could make, the recognition that we could get from promoting each other. We contacted so many brands, we were confident that we could make thousands of dollars from this trip. But when the time came, we ended up with nothing. No brand deals, no money, no recognition. If we were to measure the success of our Montana trip by the physical results, it would be a colossal failure. But here's the strange thing, I have absolutely no regrets. Living in Montana was one of the greatest months of my life, maybe there were no physical results, but we all got to learn so much from each other, we made life long friends and stories that we can tell our kids. There's no doubt that we're going to do this again.
