A1UP Mods: How To Setup A1UP PCB Running 1280x960 Monitor to Output to HDMI. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION

EDIT 6/6/2021: Geekworm released Generation 3 of their LVDS to HDMI board on May 10th, 2021. You can tell if you have a Generation 3 board as it only has one 30 pin LVDS port (The Generation 2 board, has two 40 pin LVDS ports). This video is for the Generation 2 board ONLY. I have done some testing with the Generation 3 board and monitors that worked with the Generation 2 board do not work with the Generation 3 board. The HDMI port is producing a signal, but does not display on the monitor. This includes the 20" Dell 2007fp monitor. The Generation 3 board works with some monitors, but seems that number is less than what the Generation 2 board would work with. Please keep this in mind when watching this video. Again, the video shows the Generation 2 board, which has been replaced with the Generation 3 board which does not seem to be as compatible with monitors as the Generation 2 board was. EDIT 4/27/2021: Someone had mentioned in the comments that when I tested the Asteroids, I did not have the LVDS cable plugged in. The cable is plugged in correctly on the Asteroids PCB, but may not be on the Geekworm board (In the video, cannot tell if the red power cable on the LVDS cable is on the left or right...should be on the right). However, I have tested multiple times after this video, with it connected correctly (Actually just tested again about 10 minutes before I posted this edit) and does not work with Gen1 PCB's due to output being 1280x1024. The Geekworm board does not support this resolution. EDIT: Just wanted to mention three things that I learned today about this board. Nothing that will alter how to setup, just a FYI notice. 1) You are told to plug the 30 pin female header coming from the A1UP PCB into the bottom 40 pin on the LVDS to HDMI controller and not the top one. I thought the top one did not work, but it actually does. So you can plug into either one, but would just follow the video and plug in the bottom one. 2) On the LVDS to HDMI controller, there is a white port, next to the jumpers, where I say you can connect speakers there. Actually, that is not for audio output for speakers, but for for audio input. You would connect your audio input there so the sound would come out the HDMI. This would be done if you want sound to come out of a HDMI TV or HDMI monitor that has speakers. 3) Not all monitors/TV's will work. When I tested the five or six monitors I tested with all came up with NBA Jam. However, others have stated that some monitors do not work. Keep this in mind as some will work, but others will not. Again, this does not alter anything in the video. You can follow the video just as is and will work...just wanted to share the above information as an FYI. ############################################################### Been wanting to upgrade your monitor on newer Arcade1up cabs and keep the original Arcade1up PCB? Now you can. By using a LVDS To HDMI Adapter Board Converter by Geekworm for $33 dollars and a little work, you can now output the video signal of your Arcade1up PCB to HDMI. Doing this will allow you to upgrade to any monitor using HDMI. And yes, if you use a DVI to HDMI adaptor on older 4:3 or 5:4 ratio (Dell 20" and 19") can use those too. Unfortunately, does not work with Gen 1 PCB's, as those output 1280 x 1024. However, will have a video soon on how to setup a monitor to work with Gen 1PCB.
