In todays episode we mourn the 3 days of summer we had this year. I also update you with the water preservation setup at home. A free water barrel connected to the house roof, drainpipe. It collected 200litres overnight! At the allotment, i decide to re use the 30litre buckets, i previously used in the spring season for potatoes. I've decided to plant up the buckets with bush french beans, spare cucumber plants and a snake bean plant gifted from Kerry @dogontheplot . I visit Cheryl and Linda from @Feelgoodgardens channel and have a coffee and she gifted some seeds she didn't want anymore. Linda gave me a tour of her 2 allotment plots that are doing really well. Linda has an abundance of crops growing from potatoes, a polytunnel full of tomatoes and chillies. Outside she's growing brassicas, beans and alliums. At the end of the video i have link to Linda's video where she shows you around Cheryl's allotment plot. It is Gardener's World worthy! I started the summer harvests off. Harvesting a cabbage, some new potatoes, shallots for a gravy and pongo dwarf beans. What a lovely sunday lunch that will be! I show you the benefit of overwintering your dahlias outside in a metal raised bed by mulching the top with a dense amount of bark chippings. The honka black dahlias and the tiger calla lilies have been another success. The leeks that were planted last week are alll bedding in well. The banana plant is growing well again this year. I gave it a nitrogen seaweed feed a month agon and thats done the job! The tomatoes in the polytunnel are doing okay. They are delayed this year due to the low temperatures weve had this year in the uk. Hopefully the weather will change soon and we will have a warmer climate. The blauhilder beans are growing well too. ALl the beans are flowering however theres a concern.. where are all the bees???? The sweetpeas are all in bloom now and are giving the garden a beautiful perfume scent when the wind blows. Beautiful! The no dig raised beds are all doing well, the garleeks for Robins Garleek growalong @RobinGardens are doing well! Join this channel to get access to perks: / @thegrowupchannel
