The apex committee convened under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved on Saturday the launch of operation "Azm-e- Istehkam" across the country to combat terrorism and extremism effectively. The high-level huddle, included the chiefs of armed forces, federal ministers, chief ministers, and chief secretaries, among others, who unanimously agreed on the necessity and urgency of initiating this operation. According to a statement issued after the meeting, operation 'Azm e Istehkam' symbolises the nation's unwavering resolve to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and extremism, ensuring stability and security for all citizens. "The war against terrorism and extremism is Pakistan's own war, crucial for our survival and prosperity," emphasised the Apex committee, underscoring the gravity of the national effort.
