Hitachi Elevators - MegaBox, Kowloon Bay, HK (Low Zone)

The largest shopping mall in eastern Kowloon is served by a total of eight passenger elevators supplied by Hitachi. Due to the vertical nature of the mall which spans 19 floors, the elevators are divided into a set of four serving the lower portion (1-9, these ones) and another four on the other side serving the higher portion (10-17). Oddly, 18 is only served by the low zone elevators. Fairly nice elevators with generic buttons and Vander LED floor indicators. The chimes used in these elevators are the same like the Hitachis found in Southeast Asian countries (specifically the VFI type elevators made by the Singaporean subsidiary), so I wonder if these were manufactured in Singapore. Sadly the "hold to cancel floor" trick doesn't work in these elevators. The other button panel with brailled buttons is meant for the disabled people; the other three elevators has regular buttons instead. 📝 Quick elevator review ➕️ Pros: • Fairly nice elevators • Sufficient elevators for the amount of floors • Disabled friendly ➖️ Cons: • Busy elevators • Don't serve all floors ℹ️ Info • Brand: Hitachi • Manufacturer: Hitachi Elevator Engineering (S) Pte.
