Hello! How do you do everyone! Regular question I get from some of you is how or where we get out take off data as in the thrust rating we will need and the speeds we will use for takeoff. We generally use the ACARS system through a ground computer at base. ACARS is short for (Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System). We also have the ability to request and obtain takeoff data through the Boeing Performance Tool or OPT for short as shown in this video. The data prints out on a takeoff data card and this is what we use to insert the thrust setting and speeds for our departure. We also have simplified takeoff data we can use if the ACARS were not available or the Boeing OPT was also not available. I’ll show you this in another video.
