Bugatti unveils new Divo supercar

(28 Aug 2018) LEADIN: French car maker Bugatti has unveiled its latest special edition hypercar. Bugatti says its  Divo has the same 1,500 horsepower engine as the Bugatti Chiron but is much lighter and has better handling. STORYLINE Introducing the Bugatti Divo - a limited edition super sports car, on sale for a whopping 5 million Euros (5.85 million US Dollars). But if you fancy getting your hands on one you're too late - they've already sold out! The Bugatti Divo was shown off for the first time at The Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California. "Bugatti stands for innovation and I think that for us it's important to always lead, not only the super sport ventures but the automotive world and this is something which we're very proud of," says Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann.    The ultra super car's top speed is listed at 236 miles per hour. But the car's aerodynamics are what really sets it apart. An increased downforce allows the Divo to take tight corners at high speed with ease. It features the same, iconic 1,500 horsepower engine as the Bugatti Chiron but is much lighter and has better handling. "So we have larger intakes, we have big front spoiler, we have a NACA duct on front. We have a rear spoiler which is much bigger than one on the Chiron. And we also have a very outstanding rear diffuser and all this makes small down force," says Winkelmann. Divo's brightly coloured interior matches sleek turquoise racing lines on the exterior. Like all modern Bugattis, the Divo is named after a famous race car driver. This time it's French driver Albert Divo, two-time winner of the Targa Florio race in Italy. Bugatti is only making forty Divos. The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering took place in Carmel, California on 24th August 2018.
