EDIT: y'all know I'm quick to own my mistakes. I HAVE NO IDEA how I went this long believing epimediums were native to the West Coast. Welp...they're not, but I can't go edit this video, so I hope y'all see the correction. Weird how we're all human and it's easy to cement really incorrect notions in our brains sometimes! Thanks to the folks who corrected me! Woodland Gardens and mature Food Forests with closed canopies can sometimes be tricky places for which to select groundcover plants. But groundcovers help prevent erosion, hold in moisture, create habitat for wildlife (including forage for pollinators), and increase diversity and beauty in our shady garden spots. Let's look at 6 groundcovers I use in my shade garden that thrive in a dryer shade environment, including some natives.
