The Double Propeller Woolly Bugger Fly Pattern Tutorial

When I was watching the instructional DVD that came with the Norvise Rotary Vise, Norm talked about a problem with tying hackle on Woolly Buggers that I want to test this summer. He said that everyone palmers up or down which creates a turbine causing the Bugger to spin and twist your line/tippet just like a propeller. He advised to go down the shank and then back up creating a double propeller and thus causing the bugger or fly not to spiral, but rather as intended. I had never thought of this before and figured since I am trying his vise, why not tie them the way he would. So for this video of the Woolly Bugger, it gets the "Double Propeller" title, not because its any different than any other variation of a Woolly Bugger out there, but rather because of the way the hackle is palmered up and down the shank. Super fun pattern to tie, and palmering the hackle on this vise is a dream. Tie some up in the color combos you fish in your local waters. This olive with grizzly hackle is a winner for me and one of my go to combos.
