Standing On Bridge With Train Passing & Railroad Switching CSX & RJ Corman Railroad In West Virginia

Railroad Switching & Standing On Bridge As Train Passes! This Railroad Bridge Is The Most Unusual Bridge That I Have Ever Seen! RJ Corman Railroad uses the bridge to access the CSX interchange. This train is in Thurmond, West Virginia next to the historic train station that is in the movie Matewan. Thurmond is a ghost town with a population of 5 and sits next to the New River. Amtrak stops at the station for 3 round trips a week. This video shows CSX locomotives going past the station and then getting on the RJ Corman Pax branch to pick up a couple of tank cars and leave one locomotive. I walked out on the bridge and stood on the road part of it to film the train coming back across the river. Have you ever seen an awesome video like this?! What a view! The bridge has only one narrow lane for automobiles and it is a two way street so you have to wait to use the bridge if a car is coming the other direction. Have you ever seen a bridge with a railroad track right next to the road? This is really cool and unusual. We also see a coaling tower that was built in 1922 and used to load steam locomotives with coal. Don't miss Part 2 for this video! Notice the train near the end that I am driving next to. That is a huge loaded coal train coming down from Pax on its way to the CSX interchange in Thurmond. Part 2 will show this huge train coming across the bridge that I was standing on. That is going to be an awesome sight! Part 2 will show it come across the bridge and then I change locations and show it at the multiple track railroad crossing next to the station. I had to break this up into 2 videos due to the length of the train and how long it took it to cross the bridge. Best frequencies here are 160.845 for RJ Corman Railroad, 160.230 for CSX road, 160.320 for CSX train to dispatcher and 452.9375 for End Of Train device. Amtrak passes Thurmond on its way from Chicago to New York City. I have a video of Amtrak in Thurmond.
