My Experience Running the Caballo Blanco Ultra Marathon

The Caballo Blanco Ultra is an incredible race! The book, Born to Run was very inspirational for me. It motivated me to push my running limits and try an ultra marathon. Most importantly though, it inspired me to visit the Copper Canyons and experience the amazing Raramuri culture first hand. The first time I visited in 2015, the race was cancelled at the last minute to due narco violence (we were safe). I returned in 2017 with a crew of 'Mas Locos' and had an incredible experience which culminated with my first 50 mile race! I love the landscapes, the people, the culture, the guacamole and especially, the kids race.
