Maharashtrian Misal Pav Recipe | How to make Misal Pav at Home | Deccan Flavors Ingredients For Boiling 1/2cup chickpea sprouts / senagala molakalu / chana sprouts 1/2cup green gram sprouts / pesala molakalu / moong sprouts 1cup water 1/4 tsp turmeric powder/ haldi 1/2 tsp salt For masala Paste 2tbsp oil 1tbsp roughly chopped ginger 1tbsp roughly chopped garlic 2tbsp roughly chopped dry coconut 1/2cup roughly chopped onions 1/2cup roughly chopped tomatoes Other ingredients 1 tbsp curry leaves 2tbsp oil 1/4tsp turmeric powder salt to taste 1tsp red chili powder 1tsp masala powder 1/2 inch jaggery/gud/bellam 1.5 cups water For serving 4 pav 1/4th lemon 2tbsp sev 1/4 cup finely chopped onions 1tsp butter Method In a pressure cooker add sprouts also add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp salt and 1 cup water pressure cook for 2 whistles masala paste: heat 2tbsp oil add 1tbsp roughly chopped garlic, 2tbsp roughly chopped dry coconut, 1/2cup roughly chopped onions, 1/2cup roughly chopped tomatoes cover and cook for 5 minutes stir occasionally turn off the burner let it cool completely add this mixture to blender jar. add water as need blend until smooth Further in a large kadai, add 2tbsp oil add 1 tbsp curry leaves sauté for 30 secs add blended masala paste add 1/4tsp turmeric powder add salt to taste add 1tsp red chili powder add 1tsp garam masala powder add 1/2 inch jaggery/gud/bellam add boiled grams mix well add 1.5 cups water and adjust consistency cover and cook for 3 mins turnoff the burner For Serving Take a pan add butter and toast pav Add 2tbsp sev and 1/4 cup chopped onions to masala curry Serve misal with pav and lemon wedges making a complete misal pav recipe tastes best when served hot Please Like, Share and Subscribe!!!
