🍂Midroll ads are turned off so that you can have a more relaxing experience. No Obligation, but I would appreciate it if you would consider supporting my channel. https://buymeacoffee.com/southernlady... Thank you! 💕Hello friends, I hope that you enjoy today's video. Below are the recipes that I used today for our herbal remedies, and the books that I recommend buying for your home library. If you have any questions, please ask. I want you to succeed! Throughout the ages, folk remedies have been used to help alleviate the symptoms of colds, flu, bug bites, bee stings, and more. After experiencing strong reactions to certain over-the-counter and prescription medications, I began exploring gentler, natural remedies for myself and my family. Today, I’ll be sharing how to create simple and effective herbal products. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿 Goldenrod Tincture (for Seasonal Allergies) Goldenrod (Solidago spp.) is an herb known for its ability to help dry up mucus membranes, making it beneficial for managing seasonal allergies. Ingredients: Fresh goldenrod (leaves and flowers) 100-proof vodka Instructions: Harvest goldenrod in the fall. Strip the leaves and flowers from the stems. Pack the goldenrod tightly into a clean jar. Pour 100-proof vodka over the goldenrod, ensuring the plant matter is fully submerged. Seal the jar and store it in a dark cabinet for 6 weeks, shaking occasionally. After 6 weeks, strain the liquid through a fine mesh or cheesecloth. Take 5 drops of the tincture in ½ cup of water daily to help reduce excess mucus and provide relief from seasonal allergies. Medicinal Properties: Goldenrod is astringent, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic. It’s traditionally used to treat upper respiratory issues, such as hay fever. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿 Elderberry & Echinacea Syrup This syrup is a wonderful immune booster, especially during cold and flu season. Elderberries (Sambucus nigra) have long been used in Europe for their antiviral and immune-supporting properties. Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) is also a powerful immune booster known for its ability to reduce the severity of colds and infections. Ingredients: 1 cup dried elderberries ½ cup dried Echinacea 3 cups water 1/2 cup honey Instructions: In a pot, combine elderberries, Echinacea, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then remove from heat. Let the mixture steep for 2 hours. Strain the liquid, pressing the herbs to extract all the goodness. Stir in honey. Store the syrup in a jar in the refrigerator. Take 1 tablespoon daily to prevent colds. Medicinal Properties: Elderberries: Rich in antioxidants, elderberries help to reduce the duration of colds and the flu. They contain compounds that inhibit the ability of viruses to infect cells. Echinacea: Known for enhancing the immune system, Echinacea is effective at reducing the symptoms of respiratory infections, 📚Books that I recommend: 📕Rosemary Gladstar's Family Herbal. 📕Peterson's Field Guide to Herbs and Wild Edibles. 📕Herbal Antibiotics by Stephen Harrod Buhner.
