Join me for the first impressions and experiences of my new XLPower Nimbus Nitro while attending the Full Pitch Fest in Waverly Nebraska. Been out of the nitro game for almost a year and so happy to be back with a heli that I know will serve me well. As a bonus, I almost caused the heli to explode, by seemingly not doing a good enough job cleaning out the spindle before threading the screws in... but it seems to be staying together now, and flying awesome! I built it using the setup from my RAW 580 Nitro (which I sold at IRCHA last year), which includes: O.S. .55 HZ Hyper O.S. PowerBoost III KST X20-1806 Cyclic KST X20-1035 Tail KST DS589MG Throttle iKON2 HD FBL XGuard Backplate RPM Sensor XGuard XGlow Pro Glow Ignitor RotorTech 580mm Ultimate / 93mm However, I wanted to try it as a true 550 (since that's the size I flew my electric Nimbus at when I had that heli) instead of 580, so I borrowed a set of Rail 556mm from a buddy and tried them out, and knew immediately that'd be how I ended up flying it. Alas, I sold the 580mm Ultimates later that day and kept flying it with the 556mm blades for the rest of the event - it's definitely going to stay as a 550!
