Today we review a bourbon that is part of a multi-year release series...the Pinhook "Bourbon War" 8 Year True Single Barrel!!! This line of bourbon from Pinhook decided to do something rather unique with 1,350 barrels from MGP; they decided to release them from 4yr to 12yr so that you can experience the changes in the whiskey from the aging over a 9 year span. This is such a great idea and we wish we knew about it back in 2019 with the first release! This 5th release of the 8yr old bourbon is really good neat but goes really crazy with water. We hope they held onto some of the spirit across each release and sell it it as a full sampler pack at the end!! Cheers!
