The bagless Hoover Wind Tunnels tend to have some issues. Watch as I share the steps to troubleshoot your Hoover: 1. Check your Filter. The filter clogs with dirt causing the unit to not function properly (won't pick up the dirt). The vacuum needs to "breathe". That's where the filter comes in. A dirty, clogged filter won't let the vacuum maintain proper air flow. Filters should be repleased every 6 months or so and cleaned in-between. Yes, you sometimes need to use a vacuum on your vacuum. 2. SECOND Filter. Yep- there are 2! This one is just as ignored as the first filter. 3. Check the Belt. On a lot of the wind tunnels, you can access the belt from the base. In this particular unit, the belt can be accessed from the top. Just because the belt is intact, doesn't mean it's okay. Belts stretch out, which results in your brush roll being impaired, and it won't agitate or pick up as good as it should. Belts should be replaced every 3 months or so (depending on use) for this vacuum. Here is the belt replacement for the Hoover Wind Tunnel: Here is the filter replacement for the Hoover Wind Tunnel: FUN FACT! Lots of replacement belts have conversion numbers. We can guide you into a belt that will function properly but will be much tighter so the brusher will spin faster, it will agitate more, and it will pick up better overall! 4. Check the tubing. Start by removing the hose and try to drop a penny through the hose. For the lower tubing, use a special tool to check for clogs.
