This definitely should take y'all back to your childhood school days We all had this growing up in school and still love it 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 1/4 cup green bell peppers finely diced 1/4 cup onions finely diced 1/4 cup celery finely diced 1 teaspoon garlic minced 1 lb. ground beef use a good quality 80/20 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 8 oz tomato sauce 1/2 cup ketchup 1-2 Tablespoons prepared yellow mustard 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoon cumin 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 1tsp uncle steve shake 4 buns buttered and toasted Instructions Melt butter in a large skillet. Add bell peppers, onions and celery and saute until tender. Add garlic and saute until fragrant (about 2 minutes). Remove vegetables from pan and set aside. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef,add chili powder,cumin,paprika and Worcestershire sauce Drain the ground beef (leave beef in skillet) and stir in the cooked vegetables. Set aside. In a bowl, stir together tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and seasonings Taste and adjust the seasoning to your liking. Add sauce mixture into the skillet and stir until everything is combined. Simmer for about 5 minutes (stirring occasionally) and then cover and turn off the heat to allow the sauce to thicken. When the sauce is no longer runny, spoon mixture onto the prepared toasted buns.
